Guild Wins Major Public Safety Victory in Pierce County

Pierce County residents deserve the strongest law enforcement services their tax dollars can provide.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office has been stuck in a staffing crisis caused by inadequate deputy pay and benefits.
Through hard-fought litigation, the Guild secured a contract arbitration award that delivers pay and benefits improvements needed to start turning that crisis around and begin restoring public safety capacity in Pierce County.
“This wage award reflects the dedication and sacrifice of our Pierce County deputies,” said Shaun Darby, President of the Pierce County Deputy Sheriffs’ Independent Guild, Local 1889. “They serve this community selflessly, and we will keep fighting to protect Pierce County.”
